Like they meet these beings and it's basically— we've talked about this before, like a long time ago, that like it unlocks part of your brain and the beings are like, we're so glad you've discovered us. Like, welcome to this technology. And it's like, it's like, it's almost like it's connecting like parts of your brain that were never connected before. Obviously, I'm about 45 minutes into research of DMT, right? So, so like me explaining this to you and this all started because, because this is, this is how this started to get on my feed. I was watching— there was a, there's another podcast, and they were talking about like, what's like the craziest fact ever? Yeah. And apparently this is real. In the 1960s, NASA was trying to teach dolphins how to speak English. So they were feeding the dolphins LSD. Right. And it was like working pretty well. Like the dolphins were doing, having a better job communicating. I'm not even kidding. No way. And, but, but this is real.

Making dolphin sound that was a language.

I don't know how far they got, obviously. It could also be, hey professor. I don't know. No, no. I don't think the dolphins were like, I think they were just like, I love the research that you're doing here.

They had to stop doing the experiments because one of the scientists started having sex with one of the dolphins. That's how it happens. Named Peter, right? what is it about DMT though, specifically that you're like interested in? Just because you want to also have this otherworldly experience other people are saying that they have?

Well, I've just been seeing a lot of like different conspiracy theories about how like Like, remember a couple podcasts ago I talked about like, what if you had another sense? Like, that was like, not like your sense of smell. Like, if humans never had sense of smell, you would never be able to describe a smell. Right? Right. Like, that's just it. And it's like, what if DMT can unlock different senses that still exist here on Earth, but we just have no way of accessing it?

So people from different parts of the world have taken DMT and they say the same thing. They see the same beings.

Yeah, okay, let me read you this. This thing I found that's really interesting. In 1995, there's a scientist that discovered a doorway to another dimension. He injected 60 people with 400 doses of DMT. Most reported meeting the same entities. The pattern was beyond scientific. Okay. His goal was to study the effectiveness of psychedelics on consciousness. And then DMT is naturally found in the human brain, blood, lungs, plants, animals. It's nicknamed the spirit molecule. So he injected 400 doses to 60 volunteers over 5 years. And everyone was describing not just hallucinations. They weren't dreams. There were part— the participants were describing the same scenes, same beings, same worlds. Time after time, people described entering a space more real than reality, filled with colors they'd never seen, complex 4D geometry, intelligence beyond comprehension. And most chilling of all, entities. Participants used the same words to describe them: machine elves, light beings, insectoid aliens, jesters, higher intelligence. They heard things like this from them: "We've been waiting for you." Iron Man. "We're glad you made it back." They interacted, they taught, they operated on people using light and energy. Some gave warnings, others gave revelations, but that's not the strangest part. Nearly all participants came back changed emotionally, spiritually, existentially. One subject said, she said, "I felt like I left my real home and came back to a fake world." Another said, they knew me better than I knew myself. It was terrifying. And another said, they told me humans have forgotten who they are. Like, this is fucking crazy. Wow. Is that crazy?

And it's like a 10 to 15 minute trip.

That's what's crazy to me is that it's only 15 minutes.

What's scary about it is I've read another thing of this one guy who took a trip and lived a full life with, in the, like during the Mayan days with his wife and children and family, like lived a full 80-year-old, 60-year-old life or whatever.

In 15 minutes. No. Which is kind of scary. Yeah. So like that freaks me out. 'Cause if I lived another life on a trip, like obviously I'm coming back full-blown changed. Like you can't get yourself back to like your grounded self. But I need to do this.

So years later, after the research, Scientists picked up where this guy left off. So the guy that was doing the research had to stop it because it got too real. Too many reports of telepathy, alien surgery, future prophecy, shared experiences. He was scared that he opened a doorway he didn't know how to close, basically. And then years later, researchers picked up where he left off and they kind of came to the conclusion that unlike dreams or LSD, which vary wildly, this showed a structured realm. That people were entering, like a very consistent thing that all people across these regions were entering the same place. So they kind of linked it to like, okay, so when they were studying the brain, they were showing that the brain was lighting up like a Christmas tree and parts of the brain were talking to each other that normally wouldn't communicate with each other. Which is so like quite literally like turning on like a radio tuner to like, to like tuning into like a new right realm or whatever. Wow. So I think it's interesting. I don't know. I'm definitely not a druggie and this isn't something I would abuse and I would like just try it once and obviously I'd be scared going into it. And I have heard of like really bad trips. I have heard of like people like doing this and like they think they're a stop sign for like 40 years. Really? I thought it was like acid. Maybe, maybe I'm actually mixing it.

Now imagine someone collected all the original planks that they took off the ship and rebuilt the ship somewhere else using the old wood. Now you have two ships of Theseus. Which one is the real one? That's 2.5 million light years away.

Yeah, but I'm moving. Okay. Okay. So right now in Andromeda, your viewpoint could be that aliens are debating whether to invade Earth., and then me, as I'm moving, what I'm seeing could be they've already decided and they've launched the ships. Yeah. Isn't that crazy?

If you're a longtime listener, well, at least the last 2-week listener, you'll know that I was in a big paddle tournament here in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California, Sherman Oaks. Um, it didn't go so well. I lost. Yep. Um, the first day went incredible. I won 3 matches. Okay. Um, and the second day, which just happened an hour ago, yeah, I took Jason with me. Yeah, I took John with me. John has been with me through this entire time. This is what I want to get into. This is why I'm bringing all this up. So it cost $1,200 to enter the tournament. And if you win the tournament, you win $6,000. If you get to the semis, you win your money back and so forth. Right. Okay. So I was like, John, I already paid the $1,200, but if you want to Venmo me, I'll, I'll get you in. Like, if you give me $200, then you'll 6x your money, whatever. The same way I would, right? Like, you can buy equity in my stake. Sponsoring. So John was like kind of 50-50. And then the first day comes around. I haven't played padel in months. So he was kind of like, I don't know, Dave. I don't know. Then he gets to the first— Why are you making me sound like that? He gets to the first day and I'm about to play my match. I'm like, John, you got to let me know right now. Are you putting money in or not? And he's like, I don't know. Then he watches me play my first match and we win. And then he's still kind of, I don't know. And then midway through the second match, apparently that's when he makes his decision. He's like, okay Dave, I'm gonna bet $200. And then at the end of all 3 matches on my first day, all of a sudden Taylor's now putting money, Mike's putting money. Well, now I'm, now I'm only one match away from winning money back. So I'm like, John, this isn't gambling. Like you just waited for when the odds were completely different and put money in. Well, and then yesterday John's entire mood changes. He's like, Dave, you win this whole fucking tournament. It's obvious now. I saw you play, and now he's got something riding on it.

Yeah.

And I'm— well, not only that, but he just like— his like belief system has changed. I'm like, John— and I hate when John says things during sports, like even— okay, so first match, uh, or sorry, the second match, I come off, we split sets. So in the middle of the match, but I won the first set, and John's like, okay, so the next game you guys are playing these guys. And I'm like, John, we're in the middle of a fucking game. It's not over. Like, John just doesn't— John will like— Al, explain. To be fair, to be fair, that was your weakest, weakest opponent, dude. It doesn't matter. I've been talking to that guy the whole time. It doesn't matter. John's never played a competitive sport. Yeah. So like, so I think his like—

I was having trouble. It was my first paddle and I was going through John to understand what was going on. Oh, it was probably all over the place. I was like, is it—

Yeah, I was like, no, I go, I go, if the ball If the ball goes past the line on a return, that's okay, right? He's like, no, no, that's not okay. And then I watched David do it and I was like, no, that is okay. And he's like, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, that is okay.

I was like, what? Well, when David does it, it's okay. Explain John. Like, he'll make a prejudgment about something. Yeah, he bases everything on— And we're also— this is also Call of Duty. Yeah. So like, he's dialed back on it because we scream at him for this, but we'll— Like almost every weekend, all the hometown friends get together, we get in a lobby of 6 players, and we go play search and destroy against other people. And the second John sees that they're high ranks, John loses his shit. John goes, "We should back out! We should back out!" And I'm like, "John, we've been playing this game since we were fucking 11. We've been playing this game for literally longer than we've been doing anything our entire lives. More than I've had a career. More than I—" Honestly, more than I've spoken English correctly.

Probably better at Call of Duty than sex. Yeah, 1,000%.

I'm better at Call of Duty than sex. I'm like, John, shut the fuck up. I don't care what rank they are. Like, we're going into this and we're gonna fuck. But he just makes so many assumptions going in. And then same opposite, he'll see low ranks and he'll automatically be like, we got them. And it's just like a crazy mental thing. And so then yesterday Yesterday after the 3 matches, Jon was like so confidently putting in the $200, and I was like, I told him this, this was on my Snap, I was like, Jon, I didn't do this for that reason, but I'm like, Jon, I want to throw the game tomorrow just to teach you a lesson about all this. Yeah. Like, you're coming in, this isn't how things work. It's match by match. You should have been here at the beginning. Like, you're a bandwagon gambler, which I've never even— which should be illegal. Like, there's no such thing as being a bandwagon gambler and still getting the same good odds. Like, you're seeing the rest of the table's hand. Yeah. Um, anyway, so yeah, I lost today. And you were pissed at him on the way home. Yeah, I was. Yeah, I was like, John, you cost me the game. You did say that. I did say 50% of it was John's fault. 25% mine, 25% my partners.

And he was yelling at John on the way home, and he was like, he's like, because you said that I had it in the bag.

I wasn't even looking at quarterfinals. I was looking at the finals. Were you even watching any other matches? Yeah, I was. No, no, he was. He was just basing off like— He's basing it off like what name sounded more Spanish, possibly was a better padel player. No. And he was telling me in the car, he's like, I already was telling my girlfriend Julia about like, like, hey, when I win this money, I'm going to— we're going to go here, we're going to travel here. I'm like, there's a level of like, there's a level of manifestation that, you know, that I kind of understand. But like, John's is like, is just like, I don't even know how to describe it. I don't know. He's also a big— like, he focuses only on the result, not the process of like if there was any luck to get, or like, you know what I mean? Yeah, he's a— he has a very, very interesting way of going about competitive things. Like, it will be playing pickleball and he'll be like, he'll be like with his partner and he'll notice his partner like run for a ball. Yeah. And then John will go, oh, you're a chaser. Like, like, like he'll deem, like, it's like, um, like if you're playing Mortal Kombat and there's like attributes to a player and it's like, okay, so you'll be the chaser for this game. So you'll chase down the balls. Like, that's not a position in pickleball. Like nobody, nobody's deemed the chaser, but like John, like looks at things in like such a bizarre way where John loves to not move. John loves to not move. Hmm.

You're the chaser. I'll, I'll be the stander back here. Um, but yeah, anyway. Yeah, like, obviously I'm pretty fired up. Um, but yeah, we lost. So, but what is interesting, and I kind of wanted you to explain to me of why I feel this way. I was explaining this to John. Not really. I was explaining this to like my friends yesterday. I don't know to who, but I was like, when I was in the tournament, I was like, there's nothing more in life right now that matters to me more than this tournament. Yeah. And I've never felt something about something so insignificant. I realized that I was like, what's so crazy is all I can do is think about this. Like, even when I was playing Call of Duty last night, yeah, my mind was else— like, I was like, I, I— for the first time, I didn't care about Call of Duty. Wow. And I was like— and it's so— I've never been a part of something so insignificant since my childhood, yeah, that mattered so much.

Why do you think it matters so much?

I don't know. I think it's because, like, it takes me back to, like, playing tournaments as a kid. Like, when you're playing a tournament as a kid That is the only thing that matters to you in your life. There's nothing. There's no taxes. Yeah. There's no— most of them, especially me, because I look like a loser. There's no girlfriend trouble. There's, there's no— there's— you're not thinking about anything other than the game. Yeah. Yeah. I think for the first time in a really long time, and I've played another tournament a year before where I kind of had the same feeling, it's just like, it like literally takes you back to like, like the base root of what it is to to feel something. It's so crazy. I mean, I think you know this, you know this feeling. I don't know if from like basketball or something, right? It's like being a part of something like that was a neighborhood tournament. But like, to me it was like it— I'm not trying to be funny, but it felt like the US Open. The simultaneously as it would feel like the US Open, it also— I was like, this is so crazy. I lose tomorrow, nothing changes. Like, I don't lose a brand deal. No, I don't lose a job, right? I don't lose my house.

Like, nothing changes. I think there is something in that to be able to like to go back to your childhood like that and to be that— like, when we're focused on things, I read this thing, like, if you go— a lot of people, if they go like on vacation and they sit in a chair, they're like, they're more nervous. Your brain's actually more nervous just sitting there doing nothing. That's why people play golf.

That's why people—

oh, that's interesting. So I think when you're— when you can like glom onto something like that— oh, that's interesting— I think it, it gives you probably a focus, a purpose. It gives you everything that you need, and, uh, and that's why it's so important to you, I think. And you probably are getting crazy endorphins, um, and I can see why it would be important to you just to reactivate that in yourself and to have that be dormant for so long in your body and to be back out there like, this fucking matters. It's amazing.

It's really funny, and everyone there is so passionate about it. Oh, everyone's so passionate. You should have been there yesterday. Yeah, really, everyone takes it really seriously.

Was it louder yesterday? Because I felt like it was really quiet today.

I would say the players were definitely quieter today than yesterday. Yesterday, like, I felt like you could feel the frustration, and then I couldn't hear you when I was asking you. Yesterday was different. Yesterday, because they were all four— the first day was all four teams were on one court and everyone got to play everybody. So everyone kind of— everyone was watching each other, and like, and then at the end, one team was rooting for us. Yeah, because if we beat that team, then they would finally get through, because like, because how the score worked. So it was like, oh, Everybody was there and everybody was paying attention to every game. It was very, very different. Have you learned anything, Jon? Yeah, next time I'm going to sponsor you. I give it to you. Show up to the games. Won't say anything about the outcomes. And we'll do it step by step. Yeah, it's just like— You know what? Matter of fact, let's just focus on the task at hand. The task, not motives. It's play by play. It's every point. It's like you're up. We're up 5-0, whatever it is in the set. To 6. Yeah, like it is not over. To me, that's already in the bag. The worst, the worst is when it would like get like— John doesn't have a whispering voice. Yeah. So like when it gets, when it gets tight, that's obviously when people are actually paying attention and they're like curious. That's when John has to explain it to the person next to him. Yeah. So it's like the worst timing because like that's when I'm the most tense and I hear John the most.

I was asking John questions through the whole thing and I couldn't hear fucking anything. Like, oh, you're right. He doesn't know how to whisper because there was no— there was no noise coming out of your mouth.

Oh, no, I heard it all. Oh, you could hear John? Yeah, but I don't hear his words. I just hear like there's one syllable of every word that for some reason, like, you can't have the entire word be silenced.

it's like, it's where are you? I'm just hearing like little Morse codes of his voice. And yeah, obviously like John does one thing and I miss a ball, I blame it on him 100%. 100%. I remember, um, when we went to New York, you had your pickleball, the singles tournament. Yeah, that one.

That one, he would get mad at me.

What would he get mad at you about? Because I would react to his points. What would you say? We'd just cheer him on. He would win a good point, we'd be like, yeah, let's go, Dan! And he'd be like, shut the fuck up, you whore! What are you doing? That's really funny. I mean, that's why I genuinely sucked at tennis. Yeah, I couldn't get through anything because I was just like so hyper-analyzing everybody that was watching. And it was only like 3 or 4 people watching at a time. Yeah. And if like, like my mom looked away for a second or my dad, points over, like I'm losing. Really? Yeah. Yeah. Or like, like, well, Alex, I don't— when during the pickleball tournament you would like walk around the court like you'd like take 3 steps to the left or right and I'd literally be like, stay fucking put. I have no— I have no chance. I'm just like the worst mental player. Wow. When it comes to like tennis is probably the most mental game. Yeah. Unfortunately I'm like the worst mental guy when it comes to racket sports. So I could never get it.

I don't know. You know, you know, that's like a theme with you. Like if Alex got up to go to the bathroom the other night, that upset you? No, no, yeah, if I, if I'm on, if we're doing the podcast and I'm like not looking at you, you get upset.

It's really interesting. That's exactly why I couldn't be a tennis— it's, it's full-blown that. I genuinely think I could have gone pro. Yeah, if I didn't have like, like mental issues. No, I wasn't good enough to go pro, but like, yeah, um, that is a big part. Wow.
