And then the same day Jason called me and he was like, hey, do you just want to come work with me?

It just— it got to the point where it wasn't even a joke anymore, where someone would be like, 'Where's your Black friend from?' What would they say?

They would just like, 'Oh, in China.' It was like, yeah, everywhere. It was like everybody thought it was like Black.

Yeah, we wouldn't even correct them anymore.

Yeah, I didn't even correct them anymore. I went to India and people— I was like, 'Oh, I'm Indian,' and they were like, 'What?' I started speaking Hindi and they were like, 'What?

This Black man speaks Hindi?' Um, yeah. Um, and I just— I remember like one big memory I had with these. I remember like sitting in the India, like in the pool at, in Agra, like right outside the Taj Mahal. And it was just me, you, and Ilia, and it was really late and we were just like, I mean, every place we would always, we'd just be like floating around either in pools or just like sitting on a bed somewhere and be like, you think this vlog's gonna do well?

It's those, it's those vlogs where I go, first I woke up and I thought to myself, time to get some pizza. I just like doing those because it was so easy to connect things. But okay.

And then, um, and then you just brought me up to your room and you like how you edit and you were like, hey, just come on. Just like just watch me edit. And then you showed me the vlog. You were like, what do you think?

Well, I'm editing on iMovie. It's really easy to edit fast because I'm just like cutting one line of like Like, based on my dialog, like, if you— I wish people understood the difference between editing and iMovie. Like, how do you, how do you do that in, like, regular people terms that anybody can understand? It's like, it's like CapCut. It's— dude, it's even easier than CapCut.

It's like a suction cup of voices and spirits, and it's just like you can't avoid it. She has her own gravitational pull. And I'm sitting in the upstairs living room and I'm just listening. I'm like, okay, I think she's making her way to the car, to the car. She's about to go. And then she pivots upstairs to come to the printer, and I'm like, I'm fucked. And I'm sitting by the stairs. I don't have enough time to move.

And then lo and behold, she locks in with me. And I'm not kidding you, for 20 minutes she talks to me about her back. It's fucking crazy.

Well, we also do such fun things. Like, she comes from, like, she has a pretty, like, you know, no, not dissing her or anything, but she has a very, like, mundane life, you know? Like, she's just like, no, I get it, at home she tends to her garden.

I also feel like if you're listening, you're like, well, why did you sit there for 20 minutes and listen? Because like I do talk about her, like I would, like I would just like turn the other cheek. But like, I'm like, I'm never like— the only thing I'm rude to her about is like when we like make jokes. Yeah, but like I would never like actively be like, Jen, fuck off. And then Ferris, he's managing the, like the, the channel. I'll give Ferris like 3 thumbnail ideas and then he'll make 'em and then YouTube will cycle through 3 of 'em and he'll, he'll upload, he'll change the title and he'll monitor the analytics. Yeah. Like all that. So like, like I don't have my YouTube login anymore. All I have to do is like deliver him the video, which is amazing. Takes the load off. And then at the same time, Ferris also has all these dreams and high hopes for the channel. He always has, like, he always— he's always pitching something new.

He's very ambitious.

He's very ambitious. And I really like that. And like, sometimes I'll like, won't want to make a vlog that week and I'll literally think to myself, like, I'm just doing this one for Ferris. So, so it's very important to keep him around. Like, he— what was his last ambitious idea? About a week and a half ago, I think he watched a movie that he thought was shit and he was like, we should make a movie.

Right. Oh yeah, yeah, we watched a movie and, um, I was just like, like, we make these vlogs but they're like pretty good. Like they're beginning and beginning, middle, and then I know you tried to, you know, you think they're like not the best thing ever, but they're really good. They have like a story, I feel like.

And sometimes, sometimes they have a story. Yeah.

And I feel like a lot of what's out there right now, you know, you could do that with the people that you have around you and create like a pretty entertaining thing.

Like a movie? Yeah, like, like, I don't know what that means because we obviously can't do like a scripted thing.

But no, not— I mean, you can.

Oh, are you talking like, um, okay, okay, sorry, there's two different ideas here. Are you talking about making your— what's your film idea? And then you're also talking about making like an hour-long, like a YouTube video? Like an hour? Yeah, I just like don't know if like it's worth the squeeze there because it's like making a YouTube video, like, okay, so like So like, let's take Sweden for example. We did— we attached a brand deal to it, right? I mean, obviously. And like, if you don't have a brand attached to a video, like, all that money from that brand deal is going towards that video, like, for flights, for hotels, for transportation, for all our friends. Like, it's a lot of fucking money to get everyone places and to like to make sure everyone's happy. It's a lot. It eats the entire budget of the video. Therefore, like, Ferris wants to do an idea where like It's like an hour-long video and we visit X amount of places, but then we can only put one brand attached to it, and then we're like negative hundreds of thousands of dollars on a video, which is kind of scary.

Yeah, it's not— that's why it's hard to make money. That's what Natalie's for, you know. But that's my idea, just like an idea.

Well, I would— I just like to break even on YouTube videos. Like, I like the YouTube videos to cost what the YouTube videos cost.

You also don't monetize them, which is crazy. I think you're probably the biggest YouTuber who doesn't monetize their videos.

But like, I don't, I don't know how that would work, like, with like, with like the songs we use and things like that.

And it's just like, I'm just like too lazy to like flip that fucking switch and be like, here's 20% to the— I don't know, I just think it's like really—

Would you ever make a movie?

Um, yeah, but I just like don't know how. I don't know how. Like, that's my problem is like everything that we shoot, I have like such a vision for And then when we get to the edit, it's like completely the opposite of what I envisioned. I'm like, oh, this isn't what I wanted at all, but I still like this. So like, and I don't think you can do that with a movie. And like, I can't— like, if I sat next to— if I storyboarded with someone and I saw some things, I know day— like, let's say we storyboarded a scene in the hotel, right? There's like Natalie's— Natalie, a character's having a fight with someone else in a hotel room. We'd get to the hotel and then I'd see the room right next door and I'd be like, wait, this room's better. Do you know what I mean? Like those little pivots you can't do when you're shooting a film and you have like 40 people setting up. Like when you, when you're doing a vlog, it's like, it's obviously it's nothing like that. You're just like, what corner has the best lighting?

Like, I know, but I feel like the more you make, like maybe the first movie will be like that, but the second one—

No, I know. I think that's what I'm scared of. I'm just so scared of making like a really, really shitty movie. Um, but we did have this idea with Ferris that I really like. That's like a recurring, like, I wish we had like a series on, we've talked about this on the, I think we've, have I talked about this on the pod about, no, we were okay. We were, we were on the boat. We're in, we're still in Cebu, by the way. We're in the Philippines. We were on the boat. We were talking about like what we can do on this cha— on the channel. And I think a really good idea would be to continue the Dart series. Like I really like every vlog or every other vlog or once a vlog or once a month, whatever. I don't know what it is, starting with us throwing a dart and then having to go to that location. Um, I think it's just so fun. I think that's like such an easy plugin for like anything. I think it gives you like a purpose to, to be at a place. I think like you can have celebrities join on dart trips. I think there's like a lot, I don't know. And I also think like explaining it to brands could be very simple so people would be on board. And that's very important to make the videos better cuz more money from brands, like the more things we can do in a video. Um, someone, someone messaged me the other day, they're like, because that— because I was talking about connecting videos to brands and they're like, why just not do a video with a brand? I'm like, well, because it costs like $100,000, which is like a lot of money. Yeah, it's a lot. And it's like, why, why is it a lot of money? Because like you watch the video and I don't think you see that. Do you see that?

You definitely see that.

I don't think you see like how, because you don't get the little like details of like flights, hotels, meals, things like that, that tables, bottle service, like all the little things that we're doing that you don't realize in the background is like adding up to be a lot of money.

yeah, labor in LA is crazy. And everybody like— and people charge for a production project like just out the ass more. You need a whole production team to be doing something like that. So yeah, so it all costs a lot. So that's why everything needs to be paired with a brand.

Is there an idea that you have that you haven't done because it costs like a lot, a lot of money that you're just like waiting for, you know, an opportunity like that. You're like, oh, if I don't know, I've always $10 million, I would do this.

No, I don't think so. I don't think like, like, like obviously going to space is like for some reason feels like a YouTuber's like dream. I just think like, that's like so funny. Like stepping on like a different planet would be really cool.

I mean, just like Ilya and you. Oh, the concept of it.

Like, I love the idea of, like, I like the idea of, like, for my 30th— for my 30th year on this planet, I wanted to live in a different city for a full month. So like Philippines, I lived there for a month. Dubai, lived there for a month. South Korea, lived there for a month and make one video per month. And that would be like, to do really, really, really, really nicely would be really expensive. It's like, that's something that would be like really cool to do. Also to do, I would love if I had unlimited money, I'd love to do a video a week. Like I'd love to be able to travel with like a big group of people and go and go somewhere every week.
